The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Laviate Salvia aqua-acupuncture filled with Laviate Salvia solution extracted by way of water-alcohol method on bony defect of osteoporotic rats.
In this study, the rats being studied were divided into 3 groups: N(normal, non treated group), C(control, treated group by prednisolone for inducing osteoporosis), and LS(aqua-acupunctured group with 100㎎/㎏ of Laviate Salvia extract solution at Shinsu(BL23), KihaetCV6), Samumgyo (SP6)).
Body weight, bone density, bone mineral density, serum calcium, phosphorus, osteocalcin, alkaline phosphatase, urine hydroxyproline/creatinine ratio were examined in the evaluation process.
Student´s t-test was used for stastical comparison (p<0.05)
The result obtained is as follows.
1. In the alkaline phosphatase, LS was showed a decrease with stastical significance as compared with C.
2. In the bone density and the bone mineral density, LS was showed a increase without stastically significant difference as compared with C.
3. In the servm osteocalcin and the urinary hydroxyproline/creatinine ratio, LS was showed no stastically significant difference as compared with C.
4. In the serum calcium and the serum phophorus, LS was showed no stastically significant difference as compared with C.
5. In the body weight, LS was showed no stastically significance compared with C.
